19 May (Sun): Longview Lake Campground near Lee’s Summit, MO, to 14 June, an extended stay as we used to live here and have many relatives, friends and professionals to visit. We are still sorting through our air system malfunction but have devised several work arounds that allow us to travel safely until we find a fix. Today we moved 147 miles in between severe weather cells so we arrived clean and dry. En route we came to the conclusion that armadillos and opossums are actually born dead beside the road. |

Springfield, IL - We got a surprise when we arrived at the Illinois State Fair Grounds. There is a motorcycle racing event for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are located close enough to see the race but also close enough for the sound to be deafening - both engine and announcer. Hard to take a nap. The sites are crazy small. We hang over into the adjacent sites on both sides. No neighbors yet but we are expecting them soon. |
